'Numb' is the title track of Levin Goes Lightly's fifth album and the first English single since 2017's "GA PS". Levin returns to his musical origins with this song. The song begins like a thundercloud and glides along spookily with a hard beat and beautiful synthesiser chords. It becomes softer at times, but always remains uplifting and only discharges with the redeeming second chorus "Oh you!".
You can only feel yourself through the other ("My fingers remain numb, until they touch you"). A menacing love song that is musically more akin to the dark dance/electronic music of Boy Harsher or John Maus.

Amy about the song: "I wrote the words and melody on a late night train from New York City: short story of a troubled relationship, filtered through the young people around me. That feeling towards the end where you’re touching every experience for the last time. Recorded in early 2021, I tried to redo the vocal when we were working on the album “for real” but the rough really tied in to the live guitars (me on acoustic, Eric on the celestial electric) and held all the regret and sadness, so it had to stay."

Hamburg-based artist Korbinian Scheffold has released several cassettes with his solo project Konstantin Unwohl in recent years. In 2021, he released his debut album Im Institut für Strömungstechnik on the Berlin label aufnahme + wiedergabe. On this album, he perfected his musical style; a mixture of minimalist darkwave and contemporary synth-pop.

Hailing from a place of ancient mariners' secret coves and vast moors beaten by the wind and rain, Backwater Collage is James Hoare's first solo album under the name of Penny Arcade. You have most probably come across his washed-out blue eyes several times, in projects including Veronica Falls, The Proper Ornaments and Ultimate Painting.

Similar to Jack Name or Syd Barrett – only less psychedelic – in terms of songwriting and stripped back atmosphere, Hoare is sitting on the Velvet Underground's black-and-white sofa and gives his album a subterranean feel. At times restless but light-footed, deprived of any unnecessary effects, the record follows in the steps of a less noisy but just as raw and unadorned Jesus and Mary Chain.
